Beckham to become a temporary Gunner

David Beckham is close to finalizing an agreement to be prepared for the next game in England in February for training with Arsenal.

The Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger revealed that the unexpected agreement Beckham, a former star of Manchester United could never have contemplated new, walking in north London side's training centre at London Colney.

"We will help you get in shape and prepare for the season," Wenger told BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday.

"There is a good chance that he will come in January, but not decided," he added.

During his new club Los Angeles Galaxy in the season close Beckham will have to prove their fitness ahead of Fabio Capello the first game in charge of England against Switzerland on 6 February at Wembley.

Arsenal of London Colney training ground is within an easy commute of Beckham Hertfordshire home.

The 32-year-old, the last game for the Galaxy was a friendly against the Wellington Hurricanes in New Zealand in early December.

Beckham, trained by Capello at Real Madrid, where the couple had a relationship from top to bottom, needs a more international look to reach a milestone 100 caps.

"He has 99 caps, and I hope we get 100, if not 100 then 120," said Wenger.

"At his age he needs to keep in shape."

"He is (only) to keep in shape and work hard," added Wenger, dismissing any exaggeration idea that Beckham could take its place in reality for Arsenal in the Premiership.
